One year old post: the government has manipulated and changed the data and base year of GDP calculation. So the difference is of 2% between the old one base-year and new base-year. In new data of GDP and base-year the GDP growth rate is 7.1% but it is actually 5.1% in according to old base-year. This manipulation and change in base-year was done only for to show no effect of Demonetisation and GST. But reality is that employment, production and exports have been declined historically and drastically.
My one year old Facebook post:
With the beginning of GST in midnight is breaking the culture of the democratic values. Midnight session should be for commemorating something the historical memories of the nation. Why the public money is wasted in the name of one tax one country in the midnight? It is one time one tax...as many as goods petroleum, gas, real estate property, alcohol etc are exempted from GST system. Will GST bring a new nationalism in the name of one tax one nation. Were we not under one nation before GST? GST is not a revolutionary step but it is an evolutionary step in the tax reform system. GST may be proved as second demonstration to the country's economy. There ar many problems in the course of GST implementation such as lack of digital literacy, high cost of installing GST supportive technological things and poor electricity supply and internet network. Why small and middle business persons and traders are opposing GST? If it will control the inflation, check to ill-practices of tax saving by the traders and bussiness persons. Why did high machinery of agriculture put into the 28% category of GST? Only 3% traders and business-persons know about GST. Even the finance minister himself came to know about the abcd of GST just one and an half years back, then, imagine our traders and bussiness persons will know to GST in how long time. GST will increase the cost of Roti, Kapada and Makaan as food, cloth and house. It will create the mess in the economy that already reached the level of low growth rate. The country's economy already fell down from world's 3rd top economy to the category of underdeveloped economy it means India is no more a developing economy as according to WB report. In the last 8-9 months, the country's GDP has declined 2%. Let we wait and see how much GDP declines in the coming 1-2 quarters' report of the economy.
